Heights Football Enters Playoff Run

The Heights football team finished their regular season with a 5-3 record.  The last couple of weeks they played against Kapaun Mt. Carmel winning 34-24, lost to Bishop Carroll 35-14 and finished the regular season winning against South 48-12. Going into the first week of playoffs, the team played the Newton Railers who had a record of 3-5 and were #11 seed in the Class 5A west bracket.  Heights was the #6 seed in the west. Heights won the game 41-26 and advances next week to play the #3 seed Maize Eagles.

Against Newton, the Falcons started the first half with a lead of 28-7. Deante Edwards, the team’s wide receiver, played quarter back passing for three touch downs to Braxton Kirkendoll in the first half, scored a 52-yard punt return and rushed 122 yards during the game. While K’Vonte Baker was nursing an injury,  still rushed 151 yards and scored two touchdowns.

This week, November 3rd, the Falcons will play the Mazie Eagles at Maize at 7:00 pm hoping to advance to the next round.
