On October 26th and the 27th the Height’s band and color guard participated in two big events called Band-O-Rama and the Southern Plains Marching Festival. Band-O-Rama and southern Plains Marching Festival are very similar things. they are events in which high school bands go to a certain school or location and play in front of a group of judges so they can give them a rating on they’re performance. the smaller the number is the netter the rating is.

For the Southern Plains Marching Festival Height’s Band got 1’s from each of the judges so they got a perfect score, and as for Band-o-Rama it was a exhibition so they were not given a score but it’s safe to say that they would’ve gotten a perfect score if it wasn’t just a exhibition. Tyler Kemp who is the director of the band said that he was very proud of his students for getting such good scores and hopes that they will do just as well or even better in future events.
